DuPont Solar R&D Center Opens
Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang (fifth from left) officiated at the opening of the DuPont Apollo Global Thin Film Photovoltaic Business Headquarters and Research and Development (R&D) Centre. Tsang (third from right), Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Rita Lau (third from left) and Secretary for Environment Edward Yau (first from right) On March 20, Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang officiated at the opening ceremony of the DuPont Apollo Global Thin Film Photovoltaic Business Headquarters and Research and Development (R&D) Centre and the Hong Kong Science Park Solar Energy Technology Support Centre at Hong Kong Science Park. The center is part of the first major technology cooperation project of the Shenzhen Hong Kong Innovation Circle — a joint governmental collaboration venture with DuPont. The purpose of the center is to establish a solar energy research and industrial platform. Mr. Tsang welcomed DuPont’s commitment to the joint venture with a local partner. DuPont Apollo is a DuPont subsidiary focused on thin film photovoltaic technology.
