Hong Kong remains the world's freest economy according to the
findings of the Economic Freedom of the World: 2007 Annual Report released by
the Cato Institute.?This marks the
11th consecutive year Hong Kong has topped
the ranking.

Kong submitted political development report
Hong Kong’s Chief Executive, Hon Donald Tsang, submitted to the
National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) a report summarizing
views received during a three-month public consultation exercise on the
models, roadmap and timetable for implementing universal suffrage for the
Chief Executive and the Legislative Council.

Kong's Financial Secretary, Hon John C Tsang, visited Washington DC between 19 and 22 October.
The main
purpose of Mr Tsang's four-day visit to the capital was to attend the plenary

Traffic Rises, Hong Kong Grows as Regional
Hub
The Asia-Pacific
region led global air travel in 2006, a year in which a record 4.4 billion
international passengers traveled.?
Figures released by the Airports Council International (ACI) for the
year ending December 2006 show Asia-Pacific to be the world's fastest growing
air traffic market, up 9.7 percent in the previous year and more than twice
the global average.?
Hong Kong International
Airport's (HKIA) share of this growth
strengthens year on year, accounting for an extra 7.4 percent of passengers
(45.8 million) and 2.8 percent more cargo throughput (3.6 million
tones).?The results highlight Hong Kong's effectiveness in the increasingly
competitive global air transport market, and reaffirm the city's position as
a regional and international air logistics hub.
