LANTERN FESTIVAL - A CHINESE NEW YEAR TRADITION

The REACH Winter Lanterns,
Jan. 27 - Feb. 6, 2022

From January 27 to February 6, the REACH at The Kennedy Center will be illuminated by the glow of approximately 100 lanterns made up of 10,000 colored LED lights, all crafted by Chinese artisans. Navigate luminescent fields adorned with playful, colorful lantern creatures - from the real to the mythological.

In Hong Kong, the Lunar New Year is a festive season when people affirm bonds with family and friends, bestow messages of goodwill and display symbols of good fortune.

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office lends its support of this event through the Chinese American Museum DC.
