Elania Luk assumed the office of Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Washington, D.C., on November 17, 2025.
She joined the Administrative Service of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2010. Since then, she has served in various policy bureaus, including the Development Bureau, Health Bureau (previously the Food and Health Bureau), Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau.
Elania graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Laws from the Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. She also attended in 2015 a government-sponsored training course at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Prior to joining the Washington office, she was in the Labour and Welfare Bureau, participating in formulating rehabilitation policies and programs as well as measures to support carers.
